Session 2: Yoga for Low Back, Sacrum, and Hips

Are you among the 80% of the population who are currently suffering from chronic low back
pain? Have you in the past been bothered with low back pain? Does it keep coming back? You
can do something to alleviate common backache and even pain caused by spinal disk issues.
You will learn short, therapeutic yoga practices that strengthen and stabilize your back, relieve
pain, and promote healthy low back, sacrum, and hips. For easy application on a daily basis for
maintaining optimal low back health, you will be offered online support following this workshop
for personal home practice.
This particular Viniyoga protocol was proven effective in a 2-year National Institutes of Health
(NIH)-sponsored study. The evidenced-based study was published in the prestigious Annals of
Internal Medicine (Dec. 2005).
Sadani Janet Houtz, ERYT, YT
Sadani is a professionally certified ViniYoga Therapist. She brings to her teaching over 20 years of
experience as a Certified Viniyoga, Kundalini, and Kripalu Yoga teacher. As a senior teacher of Hatha Yoga Teacher Training Programs in Austin, Texas, she offers a broad base of experiences. She maintains a private yoga therapy practice in Austin, Tx. She established Yoga Center of Lake Charles in 1998. She has conducted transformational, experiential workshops across south central U.S. on yoga, meditation, therapeutic yoga and deepening personal yoga practices. Known as an inspiring, contemplative and energetically sensitive teacher, she brings to her life and teaching a love of introspection, exploration, discovery, and stillness.
